Chamomile Royal Guardians
Chamomile is a deceptively pretty tough guy in your cannabis garden
CHAMOMILE
Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) is a multitalented good guy in the garden. There is archaeological evidence that the dried daisy-like flowers have been used to make a calming tea by the ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans. Said to relax and aid digestion, chamomile is also an effective anti-inflammatory and the essential oil is a renowned skin tonic, especially for burns. It can be viewed as the western version of ginseng. This very hardy, low, bushy plant tends to clump and can be broken apart and planted elsewhere or potted and given as a living present to a loved one.
As a cannabis companion plant, chamomile increases the turgor of neighbouring plants while repelling mosquitoes and flies. The carpet of small bright white flowers will always be buzzing with delighted honeybees and hoverflies. It may look delicate, but chamomile is really very tough. It will bounce back stronger when trampled and treated coarsely, so plant it along garden paths or where you need to kneel when tending to your plants. Don't be shy, chamomile can take it.
